Hey Universe. It’s Me, Alexis.

Hey Siri, play “Proud Mary” by Tina Turner

I’m kinda going crazy during this p@ndemic. I’m not a person who bores easily but at this point, I’m just simply getting quite annoyed by the daily repetition of never leaving the house. Okay, I go out for walks but like that isn’t enough. I miss the city! I miss the museums! I miss book stores! I miss pizza! I feel like I don’t have any new photos to share and it’s bumming me out. I just want to go on a freaking road trip and I don’t think that’s too much to ask for! I’m also really tired of being unemployed. I’m already a full-time student, part-time worker, now I’m not even working. Anyways I’m just tired of America and its greed but that isn’t new. I just really look forward to the day where I am financially well off and I can just give all my wealth back to society. Someone has to save the world so I guess it’ll be me. Well, that isn’t a healthy thing to say because no one can save the world but still.

I just want to be out and about again! I want to take my cameras with me places and get some amazing pictures that I can someday show my kids! I want to get this school sh!t over with. I want to go outside again! I have like some weird form of social anxiety where I just refuse to be out in public during these times. It’s just scary. So I haven’t been to the grocery store in weeks. I miss coffee samples more than anything. I haven’t had frozen yogurt in months.

Aren’t these such first world problems? What a luxury we have that we can freaking protest stay at home orders because some weirdos want some damn haircuts. There are literally people who have no roof over their heads, running water or food! There are people who would be freaking overjoyed to be in our positions yet so many of us take our positions in society for granted. It seems pretty messed up. I’m hoping we all come out more grateful than ever to have the things we have. Let’s remember to keep perspective and give back!

“But I believe we have a higher level of mentality within us, but we have to use the power in the right way.” – Miss Tina Turner
