Bodega Bay: With Ms. Danger!
Siri play “All I Have” by Jennifer Lopez Ft. LL Cool J
I had a really good day yesterday. I went to Bodega Bay again but this time with a womxn who is like my sister, we’ll call her Miss Danger. She’s a badass Latinx womxn with a degree in Criminal Justice. She is breaking stereotypes every day. She doesn’t really know it but I look up to her more than anyone. She is who I think of when I think of an inspirational role model. She has been by my side since I was a kid so she knows all that I have gone through. She makes working 2-4 jobs while being a full-time student/aunt look like a piece of cake! She is the definition of an independent womxn. She is the guidance I need in the toughest of situations. She’s also a really big horror film buff and is the reason why I love them so much now! She’s pretty great if I do say so myself. She’s also a little funny.
It was her first time coming to Bodega Bay! We had plans to go hiking but we ended up deciding to have a little day trip which ended up being so perfect. Bodega Bay has become almost like a sanctuary for me. Or hmm, it’s also become a place where I bring the people closest to me. Something about driving along the coastline just brings people together. It’s a pretty intimate thing but that’s what makes it so beautiful. Drives along the coastline with music blasting singing along to Outkast with your arms out the rooftop trying to capture photos in a moving vehicle, now that is what I call living in the moment. It was a beautiful day and I can’t wait to go back.
Fun little thing I just learned yesterday, Jeep owners wave to each other, it’s like their little cool kids club thing.
We both came back from the trip lighter and freer. We listened to our spirits and became one with nature. When is the last time you went on a little trip just to breathe? It’s pretty magical being able to catch up with yourself. Someone once told me how healing the ocean can be and wow, they were right. If you live in the Bay Area, there are so many bodies of waters around us. Go to one and just listen to the sounds of nature. Take note of the bird chirps you hear, the leaves rustling in the wind, the people you see, what you think that random rock looks like. The universe placed every little one of things perfectly there for you. Take the time to bask in what the universe has given you and just remind yourself how grateful it is to have all that you have.
