Less Ego, More Soul (and Self Care)

Hey Siri, play “Brand New Me” by Alicia Keys

I’ve really been living in bath tubs during this p*ndemic and I don’t regret it.

Currently listening to Ruby Dee reading Maya Angelou’s “Phenomenal Woman.” It’s been one of my motivational staples for a long time and I believe everyone should listen to it, or read it! It’s inspiring to say the least.

“Now you understand
Just why my head’s not bowed.
I don’t shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing,
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It’s in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need for my care.
’Cause I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.”

All my days have been consisting of self care and I’m really loving it. Honestly every single day of our lives should involve some sort of self care! We only live this one life (well I believe our souls live on but that’s another a story for another day!) so we might as well make everyday like our last. Life is too short to not enjoy ourselves.

I used to really question why so many negative things happened to me but now I know that it was all just a part of my life plan that the universe laid out for me. Every single thing was a lesson for me to learn and grow from and I am so glad that I have that mindset and clarity now. I sort of had it before but my ego revelation the other day helped me further became one with the universe. It’s pretty f’ing magical living a life where your ego doesn’t get in the way of things as much. Of course it takes practice and patience, but it is so worth working on. It’s the most liberating experience any could ever go through and I 1000% recommend to anyone to work on removing their freaking ego!!

Recognizing the problem is the first step!
